Anti Bullying Week

Anti-Bullying Week 2015

National Anti-Bullying Week 2015 took place on Monday 16th – Friday 20th November and was marked at Lindsworth School by a week of activities that produced intelligent, thought-provoking and inspirational contributions from pupils

Each day had a different focus, allowing pupils to discuss bullying in the context of racism, homophobia, religious discrimination, and cyber bullying. The form time activities were brimming with information and the pupils were fully immersed.

The impact of the whole school focus was about raising awareness of some the key issues young people are facing today and hopefully, in-turn, this will lead to the pupils feeling safer and more confident to speak out about any signs of bullying they might come across.

Many thanks to the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors team for the success of this week.

Skills Day out at the National Exhibition Centre

On Thursday 19th November, our Year 9 pupils attended the Skills Day out at the National Exhibition Centre.

The pupils totally enjoyed the experience, speaking to representatives from different companies, talking about various job options and apprenticeships available to young people on leaving school.

It was great to see our boys engaging in good conversation with the young apprentices employed with some of the big companies that were represented.

The pupils were a credit to the school

Well done boys.

Pastoral Manager Year 9 pupils

This year the Skills Show did not fail to disappoint. Huge crowds arrived at the NEC Birmingham to experience all the different skills experiences on offer, meet hundreds of colleges and employers and cheer on the World Skills UK Skills.

It was amazing for our pupils from years 9 to 11 to experience such a wide range of activities with innovative challenges to get children involved.

The main thrust of this FREE show was to enable people to get into work and apprenticeships, but it also gave our pupils access to some new experiences and opportunities. A huge thank you to all who helped make those visits a huge success.
