Lindsworth coffee morning

On Thursday 4th June 2015, the parents and carers of our year seven and eight pupils were invited in to their very first coffee morning.

The purpose of the coffee morning was to introduce an opportunity for parents to ask questions, share experiences and give suggestions about what they want to learn.

It was a great success with parents and carers looking at their children’s schoolwork and talking about the progress which is being achieved in lower school. Additionally, some of our visiting parents and carers had the opportunity to speak to the HMI Inspector who was in school on a monitoring visit.

We plan to have regular termly coffee mornings at Lindsworth School which will be extended out to all year groups. The next one will be in the Autumn term and the dates will be on the school newsletter which will be sent home at the end of term. As well as discussing your child’s progress these workshops will also be an opportunity to meet and chat to other parents and carers, have a coffee and some biscuits whilst gaining information on ways to help and support your child with their learning and support on a wide range of other matters.

Presentations and workshops on topics such as e-safety, reading, handwriting strategies, helping your child with homework etc will be incorporated into the coffee mornings.

We look forward to seeing you on the next one in the Autumn term.

Pastoral Manager, Lower School

Lindsworth School Pupil Attendance

Attendance is paramount to every pupil’s success at school.

Lindsworth School invests in and utilises a variety of rewards to promote attendance due to the positive impact good attendance has on pupil’s progress.

For those pupils whose attendance remains low we implement the Spotlight Campaign.

During last term five parents of three of our pupils attended Birmingham magistrate’s court and were issued with fines ranging between £125.00 and £165.00. The total cost of these fines was £945.00.
