Class Structure

In each of our lessons there will be a teacher and a member of the Pastoral and Learning Support (PALS) team. Each class group has their own member of the PALS team allocated to support them and this member of staff will support the class in all their lessons. We believe that this structure enables pupils to build positive relationships with staff and offers the best continuity for our pupils to assist them in achieving their full potential.

At KS3 we currently have the following structure:

  • Year 7 we have two class groups with a maximum of eight pupils in each

  • Year 8 we have three class groups, two with a maximum of eight pupils in each and one with four pupils

  • Year 9 we have four class groups all with a maximum number of six pupils in each

At KS4 we currently have the following structure for all core subjects:

  • Year 10 we have four class groups each with a maximum number of six pupils.

  • Year 11 we have two class groups each with a maximum of seven pupils.

In year 10 and 11 the pupil’s timetable will also comprise their option subjects, we offer a range of subjects for pupils to choose from and each option group will hold a maximum of six pupils.
