KS3 Physical Education

Physical Education at Lindsworth School aims to develop the knowledge, skills and capabilities necessary for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing in our pupils now and for their future. Physical fitness is an important part of leading a healthier lifestyle. It teaches self-discipline and that to be successful you must work hard, show resilience and have the determination to believe that anything can be achieved.

Physical Education at KS3

The PE curriculum at KS3 gives pupils a direct pathway into GCSE PE in Year 10. Each year group will study practical modules covering the specification for OCR GCSE PE, alongside modules in a number of other sporting activities. By the end of Year 9 pupils will have gained a basic understanding of a number of areas they will study if they opt to study GCSE at KS4.

Organising the Curriculum in this way will allow us to offer a far broader selection of activities and sports to endeavour to engage all pupils in the Curriculum. We will also be able to grade pupils against GCSE practical grading criteria so that they would have an understanding of this by the time they reach KS4 option selection.
